Tom Dawe is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. Following graduation in 1967, he enrolled at Stetson University College of Law. In 1968 he joined the United States Army and served from 1968 – 1971. He was assigned to the 5th lnf. Div. (Mech.) at Ft. Carson, Colorado, following commissioning.
Tom completed training at the Jungle Operations Training Center in Ft. Sherman,Canal Zone, Panama and was then assigned as an advisory team leader to the MilitaryAssistance Command Viet Nam, Advisory Team 86, in Long An Province, Republic of Viet Nam from November 1971 until August 1972.
Tom completed law school in 1973 and returned to New Mexico Where he was admitted to practice law. Following admission to the New Mexico Bar Association, he served in the Army Reserve as a Captain in Staff Judge Advocate Corp until 1981. He has been a member of the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors since 2005.
