Choisin Reservoir Rememberance

A wreath will be placed at the Korea/Cold War kiosk at the New Mexico Veterans\’ Memorial to commemorate the Chosin Reservoir battle in Korea on 27 November (27 November to 15 December 1950). One thousand two hundred twenty-five personnel were killed and 4,380 were wounded in the battle which lasted nineteen days. The National Colors, Korean Flag and the USMC Service Flag will be displayed at the Korean Monument. Weather permitting; the Garrison Flag will be raised.

Korean War Rememberance

On 23 June 2012, the Korean American Community and the Korean War Veterans Association will conduct a ceremony commemorating the start of hostilities on the Korean Penninsula on 25 June 1950.
