Sheryl Lawrence has been dedicated to serving veterans and their families for over 25 years.
As an active duty spouse, Sheryl has permanently changed stations with her husband to four overseas and four stateside locations. She served as a volunteer, Board Member and Officer of various Base Spouse Club organizations and was a member of the initial cadre to stand up the first Airman’s Attic at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The Airman’s Attic continues to provide donations and services not just to the Enlisted, but to the Officers’ families attending Undergraduate Pilot Training.
Sheryl was formerly appointed to the position of Key Spouse by the Commander, 71st Medical Group, Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma and the Commander, 377th Medical Group at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. As a Key Spouse, she collaborated with multiple Army and Air Force spouse groups to identify the unique needs of military families and determine what base and local agencies would be best leveraged to meet those requirements.
Sheryl has been a Department of the Air Force Civil Servant for the last16 years and has been intricately involved with both the Officer and Enlisted support groups serving many base populations. She has provided support to Department of Defense Senior Leaders and their spouses and has gained insight on the challenges across all the services facing our families and the military community at large.
While her family’s active duty mission came to an end in 2014 with her husband’s retirement, Sheryl remains deeply committed to honoring and serving all New Mexico veterans and their families.
