Rebecca Kennedy

Director of Marketing and
Public Affairs

Chair Membership Committee

Rebecca grew up in the Air Force. As a pilot, her late father, Col. John W. Clapper, Sr., served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Her family’s final military-related move took them from Tokyo, Japan to Albuquerque, NM where she completed high school and attended the University of New Mexico.

Rebecca is the widow of a Special Forces veteran and is married to George Kennedy, also a Special Forces veteran who served one tour in Vietnam, one in Afghanistan and three in Iraq. His most recent tour brought him home on Thanksgiving Day, 2011. Together they have five grown children and four grandchildren.

Following a 35 year career in the Emergency Department at the University of New Mexico Hospital, she retired as a manager/educator in May 2010. She has also spent a number of years volunteering at the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial through the Special Forces Association which gave her time, following retirement, to work with and for our amazing veterans. Rebecca left her position on the Board of Directors for a brief time in September 2013 and has since returned to continue this rewarding work.
