At 2 p.m. MDT Thursday, June 6, Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff will join state and local officials in Albuquerque to announce federal funding that will help veterans, military personnel and their families address transportation challenges and find affordable rides to work, school, medical care and other destinations in central and northern New Mexico.

The Press Conference will take place near the WWII Monument at the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial near the Visitors Center with a question and answer round table inside the Event Center at 1100 Louisiana Blvd. SE

Charter School Field Trip

Students from the Cottonwood Classic Charter School will attend a field trip, sponsored by the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial Foundation, Inc. While at the Parade Grounds, Mr. Ron Paneboeuf will explain and demonstrate the dynamics of flights. This will be followed by a tour of the Memorial park grounds.

This event is closed to the public.

Van Buren Field Trip

The New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial Foundation, Inc. is sponsoring an educational field trip for Van Buren Middle School students at the Visitors Center. They’ll review military uniforms and artifacts from the Civil War to the present; also included will be a military jeep and First Aid truck and a display of information about Pancho Vila. They will also listen to a presentation by Vice President, Donald Loftis and, finally, they’ll participate in a tour of the Memorial park grounds.
