This is the 25th Anniversary of the Run for the Wall, an annual caravan of veterans and their supporters riding motorcycles to rendezvous at the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC on Memorial Day weekend. The riders start in Rancho Cucamonga, CA on May 15th with additional riders joining as they go across the nation and arrive in Arlington, VA on May 25th. This year a new route will allow these veterans to stop in Albuquerque at the New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial park 5/17/2013 from 10:00am to 12:00pm; 1100 Louisiana Blvd. SE.
For 25 years their mission has been to promote healing among ALL veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world. While at this stop they will have a brief ceremony during which they will place a wreath at the Vietnam war monument. The New Mexico Veterans’ Memorial Foundation, Inc. is sponsoring this event and are encouraging attendance.
